  1. When I attempt to add items to my VCD layout the first attempt does nothing. It appears to add it, however nothing is there. I must add the item a second time, then it appears. Strange? When I go to record I recieve a message that states "Project differs from Source" it continues to say a file is either missing or has been altered and I should validate the layout. Fine, so I do, and it finds no errors. Record again and I recieve the same message. If I continue with the recording the VCD will not play. The problem has only started since I changed computers. Both running XP, running EasyCD 5.02c. It would appear that the first track "approx 650k" the is on working VCds is not being written.

Hopefully someone has seen this. Thanks.

  2. digital-mann,

Have you tried re-installing the EZ CD 5.0? Also, consider using Nero. It supports VCD & SVCD whereas Roxio only supports VCD. You coud get it for free. Jordan.

Yes I have tried to reinstall the app several times.

    Free you say?

  4. I also started getting that error after updating to 5.02. But it doesn't matter since 5.02 didn't fix the compatability issues with the 5.x line of VCDCreator.

You can also try VCDEasy or TSCV, they are free VCD creation apps based on VCDImager (also free) and TSCV has more features and capabilities than most pro level vcd authoring apps.

  5. digital-mann,

Yup, FREE. But you must know how to get it. Sure, VCDEasy, TSCV are free programs too but its not as easy as Nero. Actually, I tried VCDEasy and TSCV but I couldn't get it to burn onto the disc. It always create some sort of xlm file which I don't know what to do with it. Well, if anyone can give me a help in VCDEasy and TSCV (because I need to make entrypoints), it will be greatly appreciated. And of course, I did read the instructions in the "how to" section but I still can't get it. Maybe I'm too dumb Well, if you wanted (Nero) "Digi-man", let me know and I private mail you. Good Luck. 6. For thenewboy,
Looks like the guide is based on an older version so here's a quick run down for VCDEasy (1.0.5).

    Under settings, enable CDRDAO integration.
Select Bin/Cue as the image type
Click the CDRDAO button and select your reader & writer.
You may have to change the force driver setting, depending on what burner you have.

Under (S)VCD, click the Main button, check Advanced mode, select VCD 2.0, Select your CD Writer from the drop list, check Burn, select a Bin Output File name, uncheck Generate XML File Only, Click Add files to add your video clip.

Then click the Options button, check Playback Control.

Then click the Chapters button, put in either the time index or the framenumber for your chapterpoints and click the OK button next to the box you used to type it in.

    Check "use numeric keys...."

    Click Go.

Most of those settings will stick, so on future discs just add the mpeg file, and your entrypoints, and click go. It takes only seconds to throw together a VCD with chapter points and basic navigation. For anything more invloved you'd have to learn TSCV or one of the higher end apps.
