Last week i bought an lg rh7500 (dvd recorder+hd and divx player).
When you play a divx movie you can't use the forward and backward functions! if you miss a word of the movie you have to watch it from the beginning if you want to see again a sequence....
i didn't expect it from a manufacturer like lg.
Anyone of you know if there is any software upgrade or a way to solve this problem?

    thanks a lot

Much of this is the way DIVX/MPEG-4 stuff works. There is no standard, so not all files will play. It is likely a safety precaution more than anything else. Meaning FF'ing a file may never come back, you'd have to start it over.

No problems with FF/RW on my player. The LG players that I have seen have been MTK based and also had no such issues.

MPEG2 as used in DVD also uses bframes, so I can't really see MPEG-4 being that big of a deal.

Audio sync ... VBR audio... things like that screw with FF/REW and playing correctly again when normal speed is resumed.

Same here with my LG LDA-531, it works as good as FF/REV with standard DVD's.

Don't go saying LG DIVX players are awful, based on one model! I challenge anyone to find a better Divx player than the 531.
