  1. This seems to be an almost impossible task at present. This definitely is not for the faint of heart. This is where we try and separate the men from the boys. Proceed at your own risk....

Feverishly trying to locate a name-brand standalone DVD player that will play DVD-mp3 disks with the capability of using a SHUFFLE or RANDOM mode.

There's other features I would like to have in addition to this such as entering the file or track number directly using the remote keypad, but let's just leave it at this one requirement for now.

Been researching for hours and many other people have wanted this, but nary an answer has been given with proof of substantiation from a second individual. Deep down in the trenches of Google, someone mentioned an Onkyo DV-SP302 being able to do this. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this specific model or one of it's brother models that can prove this?

Can the Onkyo DV-SP302 be our Holy Grail?

Anyone who can shed some light on this dilemma I'm sure would be revered around here....

My Zensonic Z330 ( https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=z330&Search=Search&chipset=&country=&o...y=Name&hits=25 ) will play MP3s on CD or DVD and includes Repeat, Shuffle, Single, Repeat All, Repeat Folder and Random modes to choose from. It pretty much plays anything I throw at it too.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The user manual for the Onkyo DV-SP302 states that it supports mp3 on CD-R and CD-RW discs.

This player does random play, but doesn't allow shuffle. Onkyo DV-SP302 is the same.

Random == Selected tracks at Random(Playlist unchanged)
Shuffle == Tracks Rearranged Temporarily in Random Order(Playlist Altered)
