    Hello!
I have a DivX-AVI with an MP3 audio stream. I want to add an AC3-Surround-Sound-stream to have two audio streams.
I use the tool Mux and mux as Avi+audio, but it doesn't work. After a second, Progress says it's finished, but it seems that nothing has been done. The ProgressInformation Window shows the following:
    built on Aug 14 2005 14:46:34, gcc: 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 1666)
Could not find sync stream #0.1
What does that mean and what can I do?
The AC3Stream has the same length and I tried different locations, but the path name doesn't seem to be the problem...
    Thanks for help!

  2. Please try again with the 0.0.9t r3 version which I just uploaded at http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ffmpegX.dmg (no need to reinstall binaries, just download again the disk image and overwrite the application). Please report if it works now.

I tried and there is a difference:
The application now works infinitely long with all available processor power but doesn't do anything, it doesn't even write a letter into the Process Info...

Any suggestions? I also tried other movies - same problem. I'm not sure if this is ffmpegX's fault or my computer's, which has different mysterious problems last time...

  4. I am having the same problem. I am trying to add a second mp3 to an avi that already has one mp3 audio track and the process window stays there, with the unspecific progress bar running. Activity monitor shows that ffmpeg2 is using all available CPU. But nothing comes out.

  5. Try to use a short AVI test clip and MP3 test clip instead (eg. about one minute).

After some tries I now successed in muxing an .avi with two MP3-Audio streams. So what to do now with the big movie? Divide it into parts of less than one hour, mux it and in the end join it again?
But how can I divide the AC3-File?

Did you try Explicit to cut the final avi in parts?

I have the same problem as the one related in this thread:
Except that I have an AVI (DivX) video to mix with only one audio MP3.
Let me explain what I did to obtain these files, may be it can give a hint.
I have this Finding Nemo that has 2 disks. One is the 16/9 feature in English. the other one is the 4/3 features with bunch of other languages.
I want to do an AVI (DivX) file that is 16/9 with French language.
I used Handbrake to create one AVI (DivX) file 16/9 with no language at all and one AVI (DivX) file 4/3 with French track only.
I used FFmpegX to extract the French sound track from the AVI (DivX) file 4/3 and get a MP3 file.
And now I am using FFmpegX to mux my AVI (DivX) file 16/9 with no language with my MP3 file.
What happened is exactly like described in the thread. Endless active process but nothing written nowhere.

By the way I have got a subjacent question:
I have got, let say, Nemo_Wide.avi and Nemo.mp3 to mux.
What will be the result file ?
I suspect Nemo_Wide.avi will be overwritten.
If it is the case, would it be safer for me to keep a copy of Nemo_Wide.avi before starting the process ? Just in case ?

The new muxed file will have the name 'name of the sourcefile.muxed.muxed format suffix'. So in your case it should be 'Nemo_Wide.avi.muxed.avi'. Nothing will be overwritten.
It also would not be possible during encoding because you can't overwrite a file you still have to read for the rest of the movie!

Problem solved thanks to Major's advice in this thread:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1394345#1394345

Using "add audio" field instead of mux was paying.

About my subjacent question, you are very right Waldbaer. It is common sense.

It's time to look at this problem again, I think. It still doesn't work. I have ffmpegX 0.0.9u and a shorter movie (about 11 minutes), but "avi + audio" seems as if it doesn't work at all. I tried different combinations (first the ac3-audio, first the mp3-audio) but I don't succeed to get both in the file.

And another issue: if I try to play the AVI with AC3-Audio in VLC the player, it does not work. There is no audio output and it's impossible to jump in the file. If I use the "fix"-tool, also the video output goes crazy with many visual problems.

    Any ideas?
