new to the board and i am after some information about using Photo Shop for making menus to use in DVD Architect. If someone could either advise me or point me in the right direction. What size do i make an image to use in DVD architect for PAL DVD and what size fonts do i use for buttons like play and select.

Look up PSD Menus in the help files for the correct way to set up and name the layers in photoshop.

There is no real answer to what font and what point size. As a general rule try to avoid fonts that have very thin horizontal parts (serif fonts, fancy calligraphy fonts) unless you are using larger point sizes. Thin horizontal lines tend to flicker because of interlace. If possible, keep the text relatively large - say 20 - 24 points for slabs of text, 40 - 50 points for menus and titles. That said, point sizes vary from font to font, so 30 points in font A may be larger than 40 points in font B. Your best bet - try a few combinations out and see what works for you.
