    I just noticed sometimes I can see a very dark gray 320x240 area when viewing black backgrounded video in media player. I click the ATI icon in the taskbar and set it to 16bpp and then back to 32bpp and the dark gray once again becomes the pure black it's supposed to be.

    Is this graphics card going ga ga? It's only a year old.

    sounds like a software issue...either with the control panel software or the video drivers themselves.

    I found out that if WMM is open, it displays a dark gray background when any .wmv is played in media player...or even uploaded...at least with my system.

    Always close WMM after using.
