How can i use ffmepgx convert RMVB to avi?

I have an rmvb file. I try to convert it to avi or other, but it instantly jumps to "successful" and create a file. But the file is not working! why?

Did you install the Real stable build as instructed at http://homepage.mac.com/major4/download.html ?

I had to change the file extension from .rmvb to .rm for it to work.

May not be it, but worth a try at least.
