Not certain if it goes in this forum, but If it does'nt, Mod's please move to the proper one..

I have a Pal DVD with 5 separate chapters on it. Plays OK on my Cyberhome 300, but I want to convert it to NTSC and redo it with the same visual menu's..I used PowerDVD and took snapshots of the menu's and will use a Photo program to redo them.. I've ripped the VOB's and converted them to Mpegs with VOB2MPG.. I used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to demux the files into m2v and ac3 formats..The 1st chapter episode I did The original Mpg was just over 800 MB in size..When I redid the m2v file it took 3 hours to redo to NTSC ratio and it's over 2 GB in size...then I multiplexed the redone m2v and the original ac3 file.. the original is 39.59 minutes in length, the redone one is 39.55 mins. in length, so my question is two fold...1st whats the best method to redo the Video?? convert it to Xvid or H264 format using Gordian Knot and then redo the chapter to NTSC ratio Dvd, or play with the bitrate settings in TMPGEnc to get the video file down in size, ie from 2.2 GB back down to 800+ MB in size.. And secondly whats the best way to get the ac3 audio into Sync?? Do I have to convert it to another format and use it instead of the ac3, or if I convert the original VOB to an Xvid or H264 format, then back to a NTSC ratio using TMPGEnc???... Thanks in advance for the replies...

The easiest and probably "best" way to convert PAL to NTSC is to use the DGPulldown method.

Here is a link ---> CLICK HERE

The nice thing about this method is that you don't have to "muck" around with the original PAL audio. Normally you can just re-use it as is ... maybe adjust the delay value if that ... but otherwise no need to re-encode the audio.

    Good Luck
