    Hello,

I am trying to convert the wmv video clip and mpeg2 video clip to divx or to xvid.
i resize the video clip to 640x480 what must be the bitrate for keeping a higth quality of picture ?
i use 780kps as bitrate which this bitrate i saw the square on the picture.

divx(780kps) is look best than xvid(900kps) ? or i make a wromg set up ?

    I use virtualdub as toolhttps://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=244151

  2. Don't worry about bitrates. Use Xvid's Quantization mode (constant quality). Select the quality you want, encode in a single pass. Try Q values between 2 and 4.

A lot depends on your source, too. It will be difficult to obtain a suitable result if you're resizing a 320 x 240 picture (for example) to 640 x 480 and expect it to retain the same quality. There's also a number of filters you could introduce to assist (either virtualdub's own filters or some AVISynth ones) but it really depends on how much time and effort you want to spend on making this look as good as it can be.

Can you provide more info / stats regarding your source ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
