  1. The head doesn't set down at the beginning of where it's supposed to start printing, resulting in an incomplete label and a waste of a DVD and ribbon space. This doesn't happen every time...sometimes it will do 10 in row before screwing up, sometimes it screws up every other time.

I never had this problem when using it on my old PC running XP SP1. I upgraded to SP2 and the problem started. I got an entire new PC (running SP2) and the problem remains. I got an entire new CW-50 unit and still have a problem. I've tried switching USB ports, unpugging every other device connected via USB, emptying the Windows Prefetch folder - no luck. I cannot find anyone else who has ever experienced this....I would smash the thing to bits and get something else but I stupidly bought over a hundred spare ribbons. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem once - I took out the cartridge and found that the ribbon was a little slack and drooping a bit. I fixed it by sticking a pencil in the left hole and turning it until it was tight. Also, If you haven't tried this already, use a different cartridge and see if that makes a difference.

There is a new version of the printer software at the casio website - you may want to try installing that and see if it helps.
    The link is: http://world.casio.com/ds/download/en/

    Good Luck,
