  1. okies when I burn a dvd from nero it limits the # of letters I can use
    for example
    HI_MY_GRADUATION_MO
but in dvd shrink I can burn the whole title like HI_MY_GRADUATION_MOVIE3

is there anyway around this nero limitation because I know I could do it before in nero 5 but in nero 6 I don't know the right setting I hate my titles being cut off!

i dont burn my dvd's with nero, but what you could do is use the image writer to output an image file (nrg) & then use dvd decrypter to change the volume label..

just click tools/iso/change volume label.. you may have to have it show .nrg files though. and then enter your desired volume label for it.

I'm using Nero 6.3 and if I use the DVD-Video template, there is a selector under 'ISO' for the number of characters in a filename. Mine is set to 31 by default, the other option is 18. Is that what you are looking for?

  5. nope that ain't it because that is for file names it's the title I'm concerned about I might have to go back to nero 5.5 but then I would have to give up the the burn plug-in in shrink

Instead of using NERO to burn just use DVD DECRYPTER. With DVD SHRINK you can set it to create a ISO IMAGE instead of creating a VIDEO_TS FOLDER. In DVD SHRINK there is a PLUG-IN for burning with DECRYPTER as well or you could just create the ISO image then open up DECRYPTER to burn.

    Here's something interesting:

Notice how the ISO9660 disc label is 32 characters long yet the Joliet one is only 16 ?

    ... and there you are
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. Jimmalenko's screen cap is for DVD-ROM UDF, but i've verified with Isobuster it applies to the video template too. This only works if you enter the title in the new compilation panel, if you re-title your disc in the file list pane, you can enter only 16 characters.

It should apply to any (and every) DVD template. After all, the DVD-Video template is just the DVD-ROM(ISO) template with the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders added automatically AFAIK.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I disagree. Works fine for me, and millions of others around the world.

I get a bit of "glass house" syndrome when people complain about Nero, Microsoft, + or -, etc etc.

Everything always seems to work for me <shrug>
    If in doubt, Google it.

i wont touch nero with a 10 foot poll for burning dvd-video.. it's burned me too many times in the past.. i'll do data dvd's & cd-r's though.

i was using recordnow max for the longest time, but i've become quite dissappointed in their new 7.x version.. it's good for dual layer discs.. but if i'm burning a dvd5 dvd-video, imgtool classic -> dvd decrypter all the way.
