I have some video files on my computer that are in .ogg format and i've been trying desperately for weeks to convert them somehow to a format that can be a burnt to vcd or svcd format. I dont own a dvd burner so I have to stick with vcd most of the time cause they fit on regular cd-r cd's. After reading up on it for awhile I assume that the files are another format and the audio is .ogg? When I look at the file in properties its labeled as an .ogg file but I have to use the program VSFilter (DirectVobSub) to play the files. Is there any way to accomplish burning these type of files to a cd-r? Thanks in advance.

The audio is generally ogg and the video may be XVID or others. I save out the audio with VirtualDub as a WAV file, then convert it to AC3 or Mpeg 1, layer 2 audio. Convert the video with an encoder, then mux the audio back in. This site is a good starting source for ogg: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogg

Can't have XviD in .ogg and if an ogg file had subtiles they would be in Ogg Writ format which I don't think is really working yet.

Probably you have an ogm file with .ogg for an extension.
