I'm aware that this may be a newbie-like question, but please bear with me.

Recently, I switched my TV service from Cogeco Digital cable to Bell ExpressVu (a Canadian satellite service.) Around the same time, I bought a new computer, a Sony Vaio Ra710G.

I know little about the capture card that is included with this computer. I cannot find a model name or any drivers. Apparantly it's a Sony Giga Pocket, and I can only seem to use it with XP Media Center.

My problem is as follows: When I hook my computer up to my satellite receiver box, regardless of which input type I use, the video will jump and lag. There is no problem with the audio, however. I've tried using composite, S-video and coaxial inputs (My box does not support any digital output), but the video lags regardless of what I try.

My older computer had an ATI TV Wonder, which never gave me problems, but then again I was using Digital Cable with it.

I'm unsure of whether it is my computer or my TV service that is at fault. If anyone could shed some light on the issue, and offer a possible solution, I would greatly appreciate it.

It's the computer for sure - I can capture my Expressvu thru a Canopus box with no problems.

Maybe try and adjust the capture settings in the giga pocket software (what type of video stream and at what bitrate is captured?).

As strange as this may sound, there is no Giga Pocket software on my system, at least none that I could find. It all seems to be integrated into XP Media Center Edition, which doesn't let you adjust the Giga Pocket's settings.
