WinAvi problem with 16:9

Hi,

I am using Winavi to get DVD files from my avi movie file. I have a 16:9 widescreen tv and now here is my problem:
The videofile I have to convert is widescreen which normally means that I can set my TV to widescreen when playing this movie file.
But no matter what I click on in WinAvi (4:3, 16:9 or none), I always miss a larger part of the movie when I hi the 16:9 button of my TV remote..

I have never had this problem with DivxtoDVD but I want to switch to Winavi since it is much faster for my use....

Can anybody tell me why I have this aspect ratio problem?
