So we have double sided dvds, and dvd/cd flippers. Why don't we have double sided cds??? You'd think with double cd sets it would have been preffered so you just flip the disc and go.

Or is it that people are used to 80minutes per disc and don't need to flip? Or are changers more and more common so that flippers became irrelevant for music discs???

Or did they never think of it?

They absolutely have double sided audio CDs.
At least I think I have one. Seriously do not want to dig in the CD shelf.

    Really???

I've never bumped into one. Though to be honest I don't have many double cd sets. It just seemed like that would be pretty easy to do.

Actually I have a weird al box sets thats all individual discs. And I bought my dad a neil diamond box set the other year and those are individual discs.

    Hmm.. interesting

For me, it seems that musicains can't fill up 74 minutes of a one-sided disc with decent music. Why would we want to hear the next 74 minutes that wouldn't have made the cut on a one-sided disc???
Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

dual disc is picking up in popularity, but that's not really a dual-sided CD -- it's CD on one side, DVD on the other side.

I've always wondered why there weren't dual-sided CD's as well. maybe because they couldn't print a picture and/or track list on the disc then....
    I dunno.

I would guess two reasons. Most musicians wouldn't want to record 148 minutes of music at a time. Even if they had enough songs, it would be like releasing two albums at the same time. They lose money on a second album that way.

It's also probably cheaper to manufacture two single sided cds, in the event that they to make a double release.
