    Hello all

I need a capture card that can capture in Uncompressed AVI format and it has to be PCI. I can't get an AiW card because I don't have an AGP slot or a PCIx slot =(. I really would not like to spend more than $100.

    Uncompressed YUY2 AVI
    640 x 480
    29.97 FPS

The current card I have (ATI TV Wonder Pro) doesn't achieve the quality I want, the video is very noise. I don't want MPEG-2.

I know there are all in wonder pci standard cards. I had one but exchaned it for my wintv pvr250 because of sound problems.

Just check ati's website under pci and you'll find all their offerings. Or check out places like best buy and circuit city and they should still have pci standard avi capture cards. They're not extinct yet. (or try ebay or another auction site as well)

I've had good results with my AverMedia DVD EZMaker. It's a PCI card, and is pretty inexpensive these days. I use it with VirtualVCR and the huffy lossless codec for capturing to avi.

You might also see if you can find an All-in-WonderŽ VE. Its a standard PCI card, and is probably the card Yoda313 is referring to above.

I recently tried the ADS Instant DVD 2.0 and the quality was nice but very limited with timer recordings.

ADS also makes the ADS Instant TV Duluxe USB which is basically the same as the Instant DVD 2.0 but features a TV tuner input and will work with TitanTV and BeyondTV.

I was tempted to get that but instead got a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 and so far it seems "good" but I haven't had much of a chance to test it yet.

2 captures though on it and so far no audo problems (which the WinTV PVR-150 was once known for).

I think I liked the PQ quality on the ADS product better but I've yet to get into tweaking the Hauppauge card yet ... I just got it yesterday!
