I have several avi files that i wanna put on dvd and make dvd-like menu so i can use it when I play disc in dvd/divx... stand-alone player. I would like to avoid file resampling that happens when you make video dvd, so the files stay into same avi format. Is that possible? And if it is, what software should i use for making a menu?

Not possible with avi, but it is possible as suggested with .divx. As stated in the threads though there is currently no hardware support and by the time there is who knows you might be able to do it with mkv. The advantage of .divx though is that since it is based/hacked on avi if something doesn't support advanced features like menus it will just ignore them.

So if you create a .divx file now, the file will still play on your current standalone, just without menus. In the future if you got a new player (or there was a firmware update) the menu would start working.

Ok, thanks for info. Could you just tell me how to make menu for .divx file. What software do you suggest? Also how to convert .avi to.divx?
