i have a mp4 movie file i want too convert too a avi file any one know any programes that will let me do this i tryed a few but they don;t work

What did you try and what error(s) did you get ?

i tryed win avi said there was no audio

Try mp4box to demux video and audio then AVIMuxGUI to remux. No need to convert that way.
