  1. Friends.
I have a handycam of Sony DCR-HC90E. Its a 16:9 widescreen handycam. And i have TV which is not widescreen. Now when i plug the cam in the TV and start the cam. i can see the video in 16:9 display.

Now when i recorded the video on my pc via IEEE port in avi format from cam. and edited it in Sony Vegas and rendered it in NTSC DVD with 16:9 display. Now if i play that rendered video on pc it shows me 16:9 display but after burning the dvd and playing it on the dvd player it shows the quality in 4:3 display. and thats annoying me. I have rendered the dvd in DVD Architect 3.0 too but the same result i am having.
    Please help me
    Thanks

AR - Aspect Ratio - 4:3 and 16:9 are Aspect Ratios. I suspect that you DVD Architect project has been set to 4:3, so you DVD player sends it to the TV in this aspect ratio. Check the settings and make them 16:9

AR = Aspect Ratio. Try the menu on your player for display options. If they are set incorrectly the player will stretch the video to full screen.

The one thing I've read on your post that has set a flag off for me is that you can display it as 16:9 on a TV when played directly from cam. If your using the analog outputs that would differ from what I've experienced, every cam I have used displays 16:9 as 4:3 on a 4:3 TV when sent over analog. Even my high-end Canon-GL2 does this, the manual tells me that if use S-Video it will display correctly but I haven't tried it.

Having said that unless your using s-video or your cam supports displaying 16:9 on 4:3 TV over analog your footage is not really 16:9 but 4:3. The black bars on "real" 16:9 are created by the DVD player or the software your using to display the video.

What doesn't make sense is you state it displays as 4:3. If the above scenario is true and you're creating it as a 16:9 DVD then it should be squished vertically further instead of displaying as 4:3.

  6. Dear Gun1Inger.
After your reply i checked the properties of the project in DVD Architect. And i turn it to Widescreen. Now lets see how it is working. and it took some time to check it on my dvd player.
    Thanks Friends
