  1. I've downloaded the new ffmpegx and ended up creating the Lib/Application support/ffmpegx folder because i kept getting errors when i tried to "locate" mpeg2enc, mencoder and mplayer. now it keeps asking for me to install mpeg2enc even though it's in the folder. it finds mencoder and mplayer...what's the deal? does the mpeg2enc file need to have a specific extension?

by the way, this is the error i get when i try to locate the mpeg2enc:

    " ##/bin/sh: -c: line 1: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `''
/bin/sh: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file "

  2. This error seem possibly a special character in your OSX login password?
Concerning the mpeg2enc warning, check if your file has a size of 188524 bytes. If not, it is a wrong file. Get it again from http://homepage.mac.com/major4/download.html

  3. Yeah, it was the right file size. tried a few things. Turned out that by going into the "get info" dialog box of mpeg2enc and completely deleting the ".txt" extension i was ablle to run without a hitch.

    thanks again.
