  1. Hi,

I've recorded a private video with my Pioneer DVR 433 (Mini-DV source via Firewire, ca. 7 Mbit, VBR). Then I've edited the video with Womble MPEG Video Wizard, only the video fades and the ac-3 audio stream had to be reencoded.

The produced DVD (burned with Nero 6.6) plays fine on my PC (Windows Media Player 10) and on my SA Player (Centrum Gemini). But when I watch it on the DVD Recorder, the Video stutters when a video effect starts and ends (begin and end of reencoding).

The GOPs of the mpeg file of the Pioneer had always a length of 12 frames. After the editing with MVW, the GOP length differs between 1 and 15 frames.

I guess the Pioneer is very sensitive concerning different GOP sizes and high bitrates. There is a bitrate peak of about 10,08 Mbit, when the fade starts.

How can I solve the problem? Are there any "hidden" settings in MVW?

PS.: Please excause my poor English!

  2. Try to de-interlace your footage, or just portions that stutter.
