I am using Pinnacle Studio Version 9.3.5 and had been using it to cut clips until recently when it stopped working.
I go into "Edit",select the clip I want to work on, drag it to the timeline window, then go to "Toolbox" and I select "Modify clip properties".
From there I move the trim calipers to the positions I want. I then go to "Make Movie", click on "MPEG" and then "Create MPEG file".
The process then stops. Under "Status" it displays "An error has occured while rendering this file".
The program was bundled with a laptop I bought a couple of months ago.
I was able to cut clips ok with it before now.
The problem is not the clip I have been using, I have tried it with several clips and the error re-occurs.
Has anyone else had this problem?

First thing to do with Studio is always go to the support pages and download the latest patch. I think the latest is 9.4.3

The second thing to do is delete that crap software from your computer and go out and buy a decent program. Now you know why you got it free. They are famous for their half baked products. Burned once, never again. Patch this Patch that. Don't be surprised that after the update your Operating System starts reacting funny. Like to loose sleep and be frustrated? Delete!

Get VideoRedo and you will love it! "Ulead VideoStudio 9's" editor also sucks.

I know jdizzy40, you are absolutley right, it is crap software but the editing feature of it worked well up until now (that's actually all I used the program for!).

I had a trial version of VideoRedo but it's expired. It's very good, I may have to buy the full version if I can't get Pinnacle's editing feature working again.
