I want to start printing out DVD inserts for my DVD cases. The dimensions for my DVD cases are

    13.2cm width (5.2")
    18.5cm height (7.28")
    1.2cm spin

    276mmx185mm for the whole

I bought DVD Case Inserts at http://www.effectuality.ca/

When I received it...the measurement doesn't seem to fit. It is too small. It was almost 1cm smaller in width on each panel. Is it supposed to be like this?
    I bought 100 DVD Cases
    Regular Size (14mm)
    Single.

I am guessing the company I bought it from don't have DVD Case Inserts for Regular Size DVD Cases or is this the right size?

Also when you guys print on DVD Case Inserts, how do you guys print on the spine section? On the same sheet or different?

What software or template do you guys use also.

Just found something from the manufacturer.
    HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT
Format your artwork to our templates found at

    http://www.effectuality.com/digital_templates.shtml. Place the 2 panel

printable insert sheet in the print as you would a regular piece of paper.

After printing the first side of the sheet, flip and reload into printer.

Once printed, folde sheet along the perforated lines in both directions and

gently separate the insert from the rest of the sheet.
I don't understand how this works. What is the flip and reload into printer for. Does this mean that you print on 1 of the panel first then flip and print it on the other? If so where can I find the front cover and back cover separate?

  2. Are you trying to print INSERTS which go INSIDE the DVD case or are you trying to print COVERS which go on the OUTSIDE of the DVD case?

  4. I buy my cases and inserts from shop4tech due to always having 10% off codes and free shipping. They are standard size cases but my inserts are a little different. The printing setup should work for any size.

Those things are worthless for the custom cover scene. The proper dimensions for a single-case cover is (measured in pixels) 3240x2175, at 300 DPI. Print on regular photo paper, directly from Photoshop or other graphics app, making sure your cover is the exact above dimensions, and the prints will be perfect every time.

  7. I work at Rogers Video, and every Monday 30-50 dvds go from Rentals to previously viewed, and we put them back in their retail cases.

The good thing is, as I am in charge of this, I take home the rental cases, which are just like normal cases, just have the option of having the security lock on them.

The othe bonus is, there is the generic Rogers Video cover insert, which can be taken out, reversed, and its white printable paper.

Super handy, as it is already formated to fit the DVD case perfectly.

I just type the movie title on the side, and leave them white.

I have about 8 full size garbage bags full of these bastards.

Reason I mention it, you might be able to go to your rogers and ask them if they have any availdable, ask a friend who may work there, or dumpster dive on monday nights to see whats in the trash cans. We don't throw away anything grosse, so no worries about that.

    @Koleman:

Please show a bit of consideration for your fellow forum members in regards to resizing your images ao that they fit a 1024 x 768 display. MJPollard does not like to scroll

I just use DVD CoverPrint and a guillotine.
    If in doubt, Google it.

What is that in mm? I use UndercoverXP. How do I set it in there?

actually, a dvd insert is 11 inches wide, which is impossible to print on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, due to margin requirements. that is probably the reason the inserts you (matryx) have say to 'flip & print'. that way it can print to within about 1/8 inch from each edge, giving you an insert about 10 3/4 inches wide, which is a much better fit than the 3240x2175's that seem to be the 'norm'.

no sorry, lemme correct myself - 3240x2175 IS the proper size (10.8 x 7.25 inches) but when you have 1 complete image, it will be slightly shrunk to fit the paper, due to margin requirements. actually, i read somewhere you should set your paper type to 'A4' for that very reason, so your printer will think the paper is large enough to fit the entire image. i've never tried it though... anyone? is this correct?!

koleman - thanks for the very large pictures of your trash!
