  1. New to Vegas but noticed that after rendering the video, movement over a white background is pixelated (I mean, blurring, so you can see lines...) I've set the template to PAL DV and render quality as Best to render to .mpg or .avi, but still the same problem. I used to use VideoFactory and all was ok. Any ideas ? Thanks.

What were the source file formats?

What were the project settings in Video Factory?

Your video is interlaced and what you are seeing is interlacing on the PC monitor. Interlaced video is composed of two fields that are sort of joined to form a complte frame. This joining occurs when you view it on the TV but not on the PC unless you are using a plyer that will do that for you. Otherwise the edges of objects will appear to have a comb looking effect. View it on your TV and it will be gone.

By the way people, PLEASE stop using the term pixalation to descrive every sungle video artifact when in fact it only applies to digital photo images. When you enlarge at low rez difital image you will reach a point where you will begin to see the little square pixels ( Picture Elements ) tha make up the image. When that occurs them you can say that the image is pixelated. In video when you see blockiness due to over compression - too low a bit rate when encoding, it is refered to as MacroBlocking NOT Pixelation. It also occurs in digital images that are over compressed in lossy formats such as JPG.

To go back to you original "Problem" You don't really have one. It is interlacing from you original source I can only presume. When you render or encode the final file you will have to make sure you have the correct output setting to handle interlacing for this type of video. It will be in the book that came with the program.

but the motion blurring does not appear on Vegas preview but only when I've rendered and play the file on my pc or dvd player.

The source is Mini DV (PAL). These are the project settings:
