As I was doing the upgrade for my philips 630 dvd player, a power cut occured resulting in interrupting the procedure. Ever since then I am not able to start the player. It seems to be dead!!! Only power button is on and if i press anything on the player or the remote it goes off with no action at all. the dvd which is still inside doesn't spin and i get nothing on the tv screen. Is there any fix for this???

  2. I am not aware of anything you can do to fix your dvd player. You should try to take it back if it's still under warranty or perhaps contact Philips and see if they have any solutions.

  3. yah thats not good.. I don't even get how this happens to people. What are the odds, out of all the days, all the weeks, and all the months, that the power is going to get cut in that exact moment that your upgrading the dvd players firmware?

how do people get so unlucky?

There isn't a fix. You may get lucky and get it replaced under warranty, but don't count on it. Unless you were told specifically by Philips to flash the firmware...they won't cover it.
