Hello, I am having a problem.

I am trying to capture four channels of audio and the video from a mini dv tape.
I am only getting Channels 1+2, these are the voice over part of the audio. And 3+4 are music channels, I do not know who or where this tape was made I was just told that these are the channels where each are at.
The problems is I am only getting the two channels 1+2........am I missing something? I can hear all four from the camera (Canon zr70) but not when it gets to premiere (1.5).
    Please help & Sincerely,
    Craig

after doing a quick google search i found that setting the audio to 12-bit allows you to have a second stereo track in your video...i am assuming when you set up your project profile in premiere you will need to specify 12-bit audio rather than 16-bit....give that a shot and poke around to see if you can tell premiere that it has multiple audio tracks somewhere in the project setup screens.

I tried but It didn't work.
It is just not reading the other channels.
The Standard 32kHz is 12/16 and I cant find a way to adjust it to only 12.
    Any thoughts?

    @ Craigmac1977 - Try searching / posting in the forums at www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial

The site has some excellent info on some Adobe video / audio related products. Maybe the forum is as well equipped...

it is a hardware issue ..

you might have to capture to a type 1 dv file to get around it (and capture twice - once for ch 1 & 2 and 2nd pass for 3&4)

i know premiere can do it in one pass with the DV.Now drivers in type 2 avi..

How exactly do I do this?
I don't believe it is a camera issue. I have tried all of the settings in the camera (Canon Zr70) I have also hooked up my xl1s with no luck either.
How do I tell Premiere to "capture to a type 1 dv file" as you recommended.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

If you're still having trouble, you might want to try WinDV - it's excellent, reliable, small, free and can transfer to both DV AVI Types 1 & 2.

It can be configured to produce one continuous clip, seperate clips where scenes on the tape change, and there's even basic command line operability.
