I have a Philips standalone DVDR 75, and I was always able to play DVD+RWs created on it in my Optorite dd0201 burner, and as for those DVD+Rs that got messed up by the Philips, I could always extract most of the recordings as raw data using iso-buster.
It had started getting awkward before I upgraded the firmware, but now it won't read any disks, in any way, that haven't been finalised. Worse than that, it completely disappears from my computer until I take the Dvd out and reboot.
is the problem likely to be with the Opto, or the Philips?
when I did the firmware, had shows the most recent one, but now I'm wondering whether I should have used the older firmware first, and then the latest one, but no instructions were given about this on Optorites website.
