  4. So if copied to DVD-R video to DVD+R disc, for the most part the should not be any complications when playing the new DVD+R video?

    You're overthinking this. The data that is on a DVD-R is just data. If you copy it to a DVD+R it will still be the same data. The only complications will be inherent to the media. For example if it's poor quality media it may have all kinds of problems, or if you try to play it in a player that is not compatable with +R media it will have problems. But in either case it won't be because of the data that you copied.

    Yes.

    However, one potential problem is a DVD-R holds (a little) more data than a DVD+R can. It's something like 5-6MB difference.

    So if you have a DVD-R that is completely (or nearly) full, you may not have enough space to make an exact copy.
