i am trying to play some avi. files(XviD) on nero, and it does play them. However, it is VERY choppy(stuttering a lot), and there's no sound. It said install the dvd plug-in, so I did. It still tells me to install it, with the problem still not solved. Any solutions?

Have you tried a different player?

VideoLan is really good. I use BSplayer sometimes as well.

Issue might be related to ac3 audio , so install ac3filters and try again .

I have not done much work in the avi field for a month or so , but the video may contain aac , nero's mpeg4 type audio format , which wont require installing any plugin .

Dolby 6 channel audio will require plugin , but avi's dont contain this a far as I can recall .

    Give this convertor a go

Its drag an drop , convert to another video codec or format , same with audio , it might get things sorted .

Not all video available on the web is done by people knowing what their doing , and some do things deliberately , this is where super can help .
