    Hello All,

I know how to create a DVD with multiple language tracks, but I am wondering how to make a DVD with different audio tracks that aren't necessarily different languages.

    For Instance:

Lets say I recorded a video..the original video has the original sound that i may have touched up a bit. Then there is an alternate sound track that might have humorous sound effects..etc.

I am wanting to put a "audio options" button on the main menu which would take you to a submenu that would allow you to choose which audio track to use with the video track.

I tried this is Encore by importing the original video, then making 2 different timelines...the same video was put in the timelines, but the differing audio was put in the audio section of the 2 timelines..well this basically puts the same video on the dvd twice...

SO! basically i'm wondering how to have 1 video, multiple audio streams, and a way to set up a menu where you can choose which combo you want.

I can use Encore or DVD Architect..

    thanks!

I have never used Encore or DVD Architect. However, what you want to do is certainly possible and not that hard. Using both an old copy of DVD Maestro and Sonic Scenarist, all you have to do is drag and drop the 2nd audio track onto your timeline next to the video. Making a menu to do it would have to be done outside of both of those programs.

Using 2 different timelines is certainly an inventive way to do it, but you will end up with two different video programs that way, each with the different soundtrack. If your video file is pretty small, this this might be OK, but most likely it won't be. If your muxed video file including soundtrack is, say , 4.4 GB, you won't be able to do this because you'll have 2 x 4.4 GB to store and even a double-layer DVD disc tops out at 8.5 GB.

Easy in Encore. Make 1 timeline. Add your video and the first audio. Right click under, above or on (I forget) the audio track and choose to add a second audio track. Move your second audio track there.

Make a menu with two buttons. One button will play the video and set audio to track 1. The other will play the video and set audio to track 2.

There's no need to have two audio tracks.

If you get buggered up, check the Help included with Encore DVD. It's pretty good.
