    Hi,

    I am after a free software program to cut up and make my own samples from dvds/cds etc
    The easier to use the better
    Plus it would be cool if it could change the eq

    Look in the "Audio Editors" category in the "Tools" section - you can list them by type to put the freeware ones at the top.

    Audacity might well meet your needs...
