  1. I have an ATI TV Wonder VE card that I have working with the btwincap drivers. I can capture fine using virtualVCR and some other capture utilities. But when I try to use virtualDub for capture it just hangs. As soon as I click 'capture AVI" it goes to capture mode and I will hear audio but no video and the program just hangs. There are no error messages that pop up but at the very bottom there is a message "Status 401. Microsoft WDM driver....". Please help me to get capture working with VirtualDub. thank you.

As far as my machine specs go:

    AMD 64 3200
    1gb ram
    350gb HD
    ATI radeon 9800pro 256mb
    onboard sound

  2. Check to see if there is a big file were you saved it. If its there then its working right. I havent used Vdub in a long time to cap .avi and I believed thats what it does. Hit escape when its done capping and it should resume back to normal.
    Quality is my policy.

btwincap drivers are WDM. With virtualdub you need the vfwwdm wrapper. XP is supposed to have it but I needed to install it to get it to work. The wrapper apparently does not work for all.
Virtual VCR is a great capture program, stick with it.
