    Hi,

I have some avi files. I want to import it to dvd-lab but dvd-lab can not read avi files. What i can do is convert the avi to DVD and then demux it so i have the right files for dvd lab but i kinda find that bad use of time. Or i could convert de avi to mpeg and let dvd-lab hande the demuxing for that mpeg. But i wanna do it quiker than that si there any way tool that can convert avi to mpv (or m2v) and ac3.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Mpeg encoders: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=40#40 .

Just use VirtualdubMod to demux audio, convert audio to .ac3 with ffmpegGUI. Then encode video to .m2v , author and burn. You can try the freeware mpeg2 encoders, but never used them. Canopus pro coder works very good for me.
    Quality is my policy.

DVD-lab is an authoring tool, and as such, requires that you prepare your assets properly before you even start thinking about using it. Use an encoder to encode to either a "system" MPEG file (video and audio muxed together), or to Elementary Streams (video and audio streams already demuxed), or do what Stormin Norman recommended and encode Video Only and then use an audio tool to handle the encoding of your audio (if required).
    If in doubt, Google it.

You could try just adding the avi too bbmpeg (aka avi2mpeg) , but it will depend on certain specs , decoders installed , size , audio format .

Thats why I sugest the above guide ...
