Hello everyone, I've been using DivXTODVD to convert my .avi files to VOB files it has been working fine but for some reason yesterday it just stoppped working. Now i get a Access violation at adresss 00000. So I uninstalled the program, then downloaded a different version and installed it again. Still get the exact same error. So I defragged my harddrive and still no fix.I have no idea why this happened. IT happens when I open the .avi file and I click convert. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? If not are there any other programs that can convert .avi to VOB that you found to work well? Thanks.

If you use XP, sometimes doing a restore to an earlier date will fix these sudden problems. Did you install or un-install anything since it worked last?

No, all I did was delete a whole bunch of old torrents and old downloads...i filled up my 160 gig harddrive without knowing it hah. If I do a system restore, what all will i loose? Like download wise will I loose anything?

Could be any number of things causing the problem.
Have you added any new software, codecs, uninstalled other applications, etc? This may sometimes remove a common file that VSO needs to work.
VSO is nice cuz it's fast, but the overall quality of the finished project is pretty poor. You might also try AVI2DVD or The Film Machine, both of which are a bit more complicated , but provide far superior results.
You don't mention if you have the older "freeware" version of VSO, or the newer "shareware" version. If you've paid for it, then the first stop should be to their tech support to see if they can suss out an answer. -
Thanks the system restore worked, it must have been from me uninstalling other software!

Of course you did someting! We all say we didn't but really, we did! Glad to hear it all worked out in the end.
Next time just a bit of advice. Around here, refrain from discussing torrents and downloading stuff. Torrents are usually though not always associated with WAREZ and warez is a no-no here. So please be careful how you word your ??? or answers.
Systems restore will not affect files in packages such as RAR ZIP ISO BIN/Cue ect. Only if you have a program group in a folder containing an EXE and you restore before that was installed, then the EXE will be gone.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
