I've searched the forums for an answer, and while I've learned what to use, I haven't found out how to do it. I'm trying to get recorded shows off my Moto 6412, which is connected to my XP pc via firewire and CapDVHS. I can watch the .ts files with VLC media player, but I haven't yet found the utility that will save those .ts files as MPG. Ironically, I can easily convert HD content with HDTVtoMPEG; it's the NTSC content I can't manage to do. What tools should I be looking for? Thanks.

Download the no-Java-Needed version of ProjectX.

When you open ProjectX, you'll see a drop down list - change it to "to M2P"

Load your Transport stream files up - away you go....

I use HDTVtoMPEG to edit both my HD and SD captures. And you can change the extention CapDVHS uses from ".ts" to ".mpg".

ProjectX worked (after a bit of fiddling and searching) -- thanks, Soopafresh!

HDTV2MPEG won't work for me on NTSC files; the little preview window is blank, and I think the resulting file was empty too. Can't remember (I've tried so many things!); I'll have to try again.

Does changing the file extension in CapDVHS change the type of file you get, or just the name?
