Here is the background of my situation. I am using my computer as a PVR and capturing the original files as MPEG2. I have found a program that will extract the closed captioning from the file and convert to both a .srt and a .smi file. The file is then converted to DIVX. Using Vobsub and the default video player from Beyond Media(I thinks it Power DVD with a different skin) I can view the subtitles. However as the video goes on the subs get more and more out of sync (maybe 5- 10 seconds after 2 hours). I downloaded Subtitle workshop to try and fix the problem but stays in perfect sync so I wasn't sure if it would even help. This same problem also occurs with other players as well and also occurs when I try to make the subtitles permanent using virtualdub. Any help or advice would be appreciated I have already looked through the forum and did not see anything that applied. Thanks in advance.
Just wanted to add one thing, when the original video is veiwed the closed captioning stays in sync.
