    DVD+VR to DVD-Video ??? Doesn't even make any sense.

DVD+VR is essentially a strict spec from within DVD-Video. It is limited to CVBR video encoding and MPEG Layer II audio. That's DVD+VR. There's really nothing else special about it.

It's not like DVD-VR, which can have all kinds of various resolutions, even res and bitrate changes within the same file.

The guide also tells people to rip video in FILE MODE but that will result in horrible artifacts at VOB breaks. This is why you need to extract video in IFO mode for editing.

Sorry, but I just really hate bad advice...
I cringed as I watched the thing.

    Couldn't agree more.

Under the settings section, there should be 'no file splitting'.

Also, there's nothing there that TMPGEncDVDAuthor couldn't do alone.
