    Hi everyone:

Has anyone used the mp3 encrypting software named "MP3Guard". How safe is it, in terms of protecting mp3 files from being copied? The software makers claimed that the encrypted mp3 cannot be copied. What about CD burning softwares that convert directly mp3 files to cda on a blank CD? I sent my question to the makers and have never heard from them.

Also, how easy is it for people to crack encryption codes?

All comments on the software and the safety of encryption codes are greatly appreciated.

looks like crap. i can understand having to use their software to make the mp3's, but you also have to use their software to play the mp3's.. so in effect it's not really an mp3 anymore.. they're just using the mp3 file extension for its namesake..

and as with anything, it can be copied.. if there is enough interest in it.. but the easiest (non-technical way) would be just to play the mp3 & have audacity or some other audio program recording.. although it does have to be done real-time the first time.

if you can play it (the mp3) , you can use a program that wll write the output to disk ...

    very easy to do ...

    so program is worthless ..

    Thanks.

Perhaps, that's why I have never heard from the maker of the software after I sent in my inquiries.
