  2. What "MPEG-7 codec"? AFAIK that standard is still in the planning stage and no actual software is available yet.
    For that matter, what are you referring to as "MPEG-4"?
    And please don't say Windows Media or DivX.

  3. Well i just want to know whether MPEG-7 has a better compression algorithm and can be "modified" like MPEG-4. I cant understadn the what the overviews of MPEG-7 are talkin about so maybe someone here can put it in simple terms :>

  4. MPEG-7 isn't a compression algorithm at all.

    It's a framework for media representation that would allow archives to be indexed and searched using content-based directives such as "show me everything containing a young girl and a daisy" which would return, among other things, that classic scene from the movie Frankenstein.
