    Hi,
Im sorta new to video editing, im using Vegas6.0.

Whenever I add an mpeg, recorded from ma Sony DVD Handycam 101, which has been copied to my hard drive it has video but no sound.

When i play it through a video player i get sound, but not with vegas.

I wondered if it was a problem with the codecs... anyone know which codecs I require??

install the sony move studio demo - then remove it

    it will now work...

or better yet =- throw that DVD Handycam 101 in the garbage as its output is not meant to be edited (true)....and get a real camera if you plan on editing .
The quality after recompression really takes a hit ... .

if you are new to editing, vegas 6 was a big leap .. you may have been better to start with sony studio series .. vegas is a full featured pro level app ...
