I can record TV programs onto my hard drive as 'film.mpg' files using a ComproDTV 2.5 PCI TV card in the UK.
The films play back very well on Real One player on the computer but I have problems when I burn them to a DVD to watch through a JVC Video recorder on the TV. If I select DVD-video in Nero 6 to burn the DVD a message says that the file is bigger than 2GB and cannot be stored in an ISO file system and I must use UDF. My JVC DR-M10 player will not accept Packet Write (UDF) format discs and so they won’t play.
Why if a DVD can store 4.7 GB of data can’t I write a 2.5GB film to a DVD? How else can I get my TV recorded programs onto a DVD to view on my TV through my JVC player?
My burner is a Sony DVD-RW DW-22A and I am using Nero 6.0.0.28

You must author it to a dvd-video first,

nero burning rom or nero express can not author. tmpgenc dvd author is very easy to use but you can try nerovision express if it is included with your nero. -
Thanks Baldrick, as the post suggests I'm a newbie and I haven't heard of authoring before. I have followed some of the links and am still in the dark as to what's involved. Any chance of supplying a simple explanation and some software recomendations? I have just discovered that my version of Nerovision express has expired and I haven't even used it!
