Have you tried the freeware VLC media player? It has it's own codecs, so it's a good way to see if you have a codec problem. Also, will it open in VirtualDub? If neither of them will play it, may be a corrupted file.

You could post a screenshot from Gspot, (You can black out the title if you like.) and someone here might be able to give you more info.

Then you do likely have a codec problem. Installing more without uninstalling the old ones won't help. You can use a program like Codec Sniper to remove old or corrupted ones.

  5. hi

i already tried uninstall and reinstall but without success

i did try codec sniper to see if there maybe where corrupt codecs
    but all codecs where ok.

are there no programs that find codecs for single movie files
so that you can check them.

because i think i still haven't the right codec, but i have no idea how to find
    them.

  7. hi

i already tried g-spot it says that i have 3 codecs installed that should
    work,but don't.

but g-spot can't be sure that the codecs will work.

are there programs that can, where you can test the codec with the
    movie file
