I have an avi and a srt file that I'd like to burn to a DVD.

I usually use TMPGenc to convert the avi to m2v ..the audio I extract and convert to AC3 - then burn these with TDA.

What the heck do I do with the .srt file? How do I get the subs on the DVD as well? I'm assuming its done in the authoring..but really have no idea.

I've searched and saw one other post about the srt..and he finally gave up...ugh...

    Thanks

You could build an Avisynth script to frameserve your avi file with subtitiles to your encoder. Your encoded m2v would contain the subtitles (which would be permanent). Then author the m2v with your ac3 audio in TDA.

Learning Avisynth (if you don't already know it) and build your script will take some work on your part ... however, Avisynth is free and a very powerful tool and worth it (in my opinion).

    Use Vobsub

Just make sure you have a folder with your avi in and the srt file together. The avi and the srt must have the same name (Wedding.avi,Wedding.srt)
