i bought one of those off brand mp3 players off of ebay. works great. it transfers mp3 files like a regular usb thumb drive would. i was looking for a easy to use software, that i can reencode all of my music (which is in 224kbps) to 128kbps, normalize, and then transfer to my mp3 player. now nero works great for my cd making. i choose the files, i click normalize and then burn. everything is done with out hurting the original file. is there something like that for mp3 players?

Try using Musicmatch. If you can get an older version 7 installer that will be the application to use.
