That may be true, but what I like is I can right click any saved image and choose 'resize' picture'. Can I do the same with the programs you mentioned?

When the quality of an image isn't too important, I like using PowerToy's image resizer for it's ease of use.

As far as the gas guzzler debate goes, while gas prices may have been low at the time they became more popular, it should have been obvious that we're dealing with a finite resource. Add to that the dependency (on most of our parts) on foreign sources of supply, it was clear to many that the cheap gas situation was never indefinite.....

  4. $6.83 per US gallon. That's 99.9p/litre - as high as some pumps are able to display. It costs me £60 ($108.35) to tank up from almost-empty to full.

I'm just glad I have a 1.5l engine that's dead economical with the fuel.

  5. For those of you in the USA, to get an idea of where
the price of gas is headed go here.....

    www.ClevelandGasPrices.com

    ---Click on Price Charts

---In Customize price charts click USA average and then Create Chart.

    ---Next click 3 Year

The chart that pops up gives somewhat of an indication of where
    the prices are headed.

Seems like it should drop around Christmas time,
    and then head back up.

  6. I may reconsider my plans to get a V-6 in my next car, especially now that they're talking about 50¢/gal more because of the storm.

    PREDICTION:

Once it hits a average of $3/gal, there will be no more talk of any "shortage" (for now)....

Unless gas here tops $5 a gallon in the next year I'm not too worried about being able to afford it.

As for not getting a 6-cylinder: my 4-banger only gets 19 mpg so it isn't always less cylinders equal greater fuel economy
In fact if I wanted a fun car that had great fuel economy I'd get a VW TDi of some sort and reflash the ECU. You can get somewhere around 260 lb-ft of torque that way and still get 30+ mpg city

Yeah, gas is over $3/gallon for premium over here. I used to fill at Costco, but the lines are just stupid now. On a full tank, I'll save about 5 bucks, after waiting in line for about half an hour. No thanks.

Which Costco are you talking about? I heard the one out at Waipio isn't that bad. I fill up at the one in town at Iwilei. I never fill gas on the weekends or on a Monday or Friday. I usually fill up on my way to work when it's not that crowded. I drove by there last Sunday saw the krazy cars lined up all the way from Dillingham Blvd. I guess it will be worse on Thursday when the gas cap goes into effect. Whoas! I guess I need to fill up my little Scion xA tank before then!

well, get ready for higher price on gasoline.
    http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050830/us_nm/energy_gasoline_prices_dc_6

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wholesale gasoline prices on the Gulf Coast broke $3 a gallon on Tuesday -- far higher than prices at most U.S. pumps -- as major refineries remained shut after Hurricane Katrina, trading sources said.
Anyone care to wage how high price gonna be next Monday?

Ahh..... I'd missed the good old day when gasoline was $2.00 a gallon. Now when was it???? 1 or maybe 2 months ago???

It's gonna cost me $10.00 to mow my damn lawn!!!!
I think I have a hand push lawn mower somewhere in the garage, maybe I'll take it out and start using it again One think I can be happy about this. I was right and my wife was wrong when she told me I'll never use the hand push mower again.... I'll never let her forget this

  19. I leave my home high school for half of the day every day and go to a tech school. On the drive there two gas stations had prices of $3.29 and $3.19. I drove a little farhter down the street and came upon a BP at $2.69. It was packed, where as the other stations were dead. I was going to stop on my way home, but by the time class let out the price wa up to $3.29 there as well. That is a 60 cent increase.
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours.

What really pissed me off is that they increased the price on the gasoline that they got at a lower wholesale price before the shortage (which is already in their underground tank). not the gasoline which they have yet to purchase at a higher wholesale price. This is just pure Profiteer, nothing more ..............

There should be no reason to justify those kind of price other than profiteering. Here is an excert from http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050831/katrina_oil_hk3.html?.v=5
Light sweet crude for October delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 87 cents to settle at $68.94 a barrel, down from an overnight high of $70.65. On Tuesday, oil futures settled at $69.81, the highest closing price on Nymex since trading began in 1983, although still below the inflation-adjusted high of about $90 a barrel that was set in 1980.

October gasoline futures surged as high as $2.92 a gallon on Nymex and settled at $2.6145 per gallon, an increase of 14 cents. That is 35 percent higher than they were on Friday.

Gas Listed At $3.92 At Garden City Station
Some Pumps Empty At Local Stations

    POSTED: August 31, 2005

GARDEN CITY -- Gas prices continue to rise as damage from Hurricane Katrina has contributed to a shortage of fuel in Michigan.

The price of unleaded regular at a Marathon station in Garden City was at $3.92, but the owner told Local 4 that the station has been closed for three weeks. Motorists have been stopping to take pictures of the sign as evidence of rising prices across the metro Detroit area, Local 4 reported.

A price of $2.91 for regular unleaded at a station at Gratiot Avenue and Rochell in Detroit was beginning to look like a bargain compared to some other locations, the station reported.

At 12 Mile Road and Masonic in Roseville, prices have reached $3.29.

A BP station at 12 Mile and Southfield was at $3.05, while prices at a station across the street jumped to $3.44.

About 40 percent of Michigan's gasoline comes from the Gulf Coast, where Hurricane Katrina has caused shutdowns of oil platforms, refineries and pipelines. The impact of the storm drove energy prices sharply higher on Tuesday.

Unfortuantley we lost alot of refining copacity as well. It is good that the oil reserves were open so the price of crudde fell resulting in the refineries that are still active getting it for cheaper, but even so prices will still be high.
