Do you mean resolution or the size when played? If it's DVD compliant it should be 720 x 576 pixels if full DI.

    Authoring shouldn't change resolution.

Check the original MPEG file with Gspot and see what resolution it started with.

Then it would help to say what programs you are using to make the DVD.

Also what have you watched the DVD on, a settop player or just the computer?

That sounds like a problem with your software player. If it is that resolution you should be able to resize the picture in the player to full screen size. If all else fails, try the free VLC media player.

The software DVD viewing program I use most is PowerDVD. But it is payware.

Get the latest GSpot (2.52 Beta) - I don't care if you already have GSpot - you need this latest Beta (it's a must for opening MPEGs properly) and load your source file into it, take a screenshot, then load one of the VOBs into it, and take another screenshot. Upload them here with help from this guide. Also tell us what software you used to convert the MPEG to VOB(s) and if applicable, what settings you used.

BTW, if WE'RE helping YOU, the least YOU could do to help US is provide shitloads more information than YOU already have. Your original question is like saying "Help! I washed my car and now it won't start. Why ?" without any indication of the condition of the engine, how much fuel you've got, etc etc. Please post as much information as possible - we can't see your screen from here.
    If in doubt, Google it.

What process did you use to go from the source mpeg to the final mpeg ? It appears that all that process did was pad out the edges to full D1 size, without resizing the original.
