open the avi in tmpgenc, do you see the video if you use file->preview in tmpgenc?
what do you play with? you need a dvd/mpeg2 codec or player to see mpeg2.

  3. Actually I don't see the avi in tmpgenc. The avi file is output from adobe premiere pro as a DVavi file. I use power DVD to view the MPEGs. I also can normally see MPEGs on Ulead DVD workshop when authoring a DVD.

  4. OK, all I want to do is to take my video from Adobe Premiere Pro, encode it to MPEG-2 using TMPGenc and burn onto DVD using Ulead DVD Workshop. It looks like TMPGenc doesn't like the DV avi file type that is output from premiere. The microsoft avi file type is too big to output from so how to I get the video from premiere to TMPGenc. I tried the frame serve method as described in other posts to no avail. Is there another method?

If it's DV type 1, you can convert it to type 2, which TMPGEnc accepts better.

Use the Canopus DV File Converter.

  6. Got there in the end...phew! Used the file convertor and used tmpgenc to successfully make a high quality MPEG which now looks great on DVD
