I've partitioned my HD and on the partition with XP i've left enough to defrag but no more.
I want to install a game and will have to do it on partition XP is'nt on.
Is this ok?
Might sound like strange question but I'm really not sure![]()

Yes.
You may have problems in the future as many progs must install dll files and such to the windows directory. They often do this without asking or even informing you. There are also some progs, many of which are games, which insist on installing to the C drive. -
would i be able to increase partition size, with Partition Magic or other software?
how safe would it be to do? -
Can you do it? Yes.
Is it safe? Probably.
Will some progs choke on the resized partition? Yes, mainly disk utilities but also some others.
Is it More Safe to reformat the hard drive, resize the partitions, and re-install? Yes, absolutely, without question.
How much difference between the two methods? If you have no problems, none. If you have a problem, extremely huge difference. If a problem occurs, it is usually catastrophic.
Is there a method Guaranteed to not have issues relating to changing the partition size? Yes, the reformat method.
