  1. I see that now. Yeah, same mobo. Just didn't notice that, didn't look over that too good.

    Well, hopefully all goes well.

    Thanks

The only bit of wisdom I would like to add is to spend as little as you can. Why? Well, you will quickly want to build another PC, and then another, and then...

In other words, don't buy bleeding edge hardware. Save your money for your next rig. Current OS's and software are handled perfectly fine by technology from the past 3-4 years...or even further back.

That said, if you are a gamer and want to squeeze every last bit of power, you might want to invest a bit more.

  3. I see what you're saying.

Well, I am a gamer, but not a huge PC gamer. So I plan on running some games, but not the most power hungry ones.

I've had a Compaq Presario 6000 since 2002 and have gotten by with it quite well. So, I would consider this an upgrade. I think it'll keep me content for a long time...

as long as I can actually put it together.

    Thanks for the insight.

You'll do all right. Just don't get too into overclocking right off the bat (if you were even considering it at all). Take your time and don't rush anything. If something isn't fitting right, stop, and re-evaluate.

If you haven't, go to ocforums.com. That is where I learned most of my hardware knowledge when I first got into PC building. There are a lot of helpful people over there (just don't screem n3wb at them).

  5. I am unable to register at that site. It says my email address has been banned. Two different ones. I've never even been to that site before, so I don't see why I would be banned.

I tried emailing the administrator and was given an invalid email address.
