Sorry if this is a stupid question.
The avi I want to edit starts abruptly, with no room for an intro or title. What is the correct way to create some 'spare space' in front of this AVI for titles etc?
Thanks.

Hello nzo;
To start with you will have to move the AVI over to the left on the Time Line, just click and drag it. Now go to the Media Generators Tab located at the bottom lefthand corner of Vegas. In the left window are your choices of Checkerboard, Color Gradient, Credit Roll, Noise Tecture, Solid Color and so forth. Select Solid Color. Now the right hand window will give you your color choices. Select the Black Color Panel (Drag and Drop it in front of the AVI on the Time Line, a Video Event FX window will appear allowing you to select the color hues you want or even if you want it transparent. Close this window and then go back to the AVI and Drag it back to over lap the black panel about 1 sec. Hope this helps!"You have not because you ask not"
